A Very Scary Eighth Inning

I was rendered not only speechless for a moment, but also motionless as I watched Rick Ankiel collide with the wall in center field last night.  Almost immediately I was reminded of that terrible collision that Yadier Molina had last year; also while playing against the Phillies. Professional athletes perform at a level much higher than most of us could ever dream of, and sometimes they have accidents of a professional standard too.  Last night it happened to Rick, but fortunately all reports, so far, say that he will make a full recovery.  That is definitely great and amazing news!  My thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family and the very special team that I am proud to be a fan of.

You can read more about Rick's night here and here's a link to Yadi's last year.
