As is customary on Fridays in Simon's of Rock, it's casual cheese day.  You can wear your jeans/Hawaiian shirts & hear something interesting and cheesy.

This week we celebrate a history lesson behind New Kids On the Block.  On this day in 1989, Massachusetts Governor, Michael Dukakis, declared April 24th "New Kids On the Block Day."  The crew from Boston had just catapulted to stardom with their second hit, You've Got It (The Right Stuff), which was produced by Maurice Starr, who played all the instruments on the New Kids album, just as he did for New Edition.

This trip back in the history of cheesy pop is courtesy of Simon's School of Rock, weeknights at 8 on 106.5 the Arch.
