It's St. Patrick's Day, so it's a great time to learn about U2 on Simon Archer's School of Rock. Tonight's lesson was When Love Comes To Town, which is a duet with blues legend B.B. King.
The story goes that U2 saw a B.B. King concert in Dublin, Ireland in 1987 when U2 was catapulting to stardom. When the band told King he was a big inspiration to them, he felt humbled & asked them to keep him in mind someday when writing a song. That's exactly why Bono wrote the song, which U2 performed with B.B. King at a concert in Fort Worth, Texas in late 1987.
When Love Comes To Town was a career boost for King & his biggest hit in the UK.
Tune in every weeknight at 8 for another session of Simon Archer's School of Rock on 106.5 the Arch.
