Sesame Street has laid off 20% of its workforce!  67 of 355 positions were eliminated in an effort to meet goals.  This is not surprising to me, since much of the children's programming on PBS relies on charitable donations.  Companies & individuals are less likely to make huge donations in these tough times.

There's no word on whether any of the muppets were also laid off.  Elmo could certainly stand to relocate...to Mars!
