My take on The Bachelor...

So, America is blabbing about Jason Mesnick's change of heart this week on The Bachelor.  He chose & proposed to Melissa on the finale, then changed his mind, dumped Melissa on TV, then asked Molly for another chance.

Ok, not the classiest situation, but let's put this into perspective.

Jason basically dated both Melissa & Molly for 6 weeks before the show made him choose.  Under pressure, he chose Melissa to date exclusively.  Granted, he proposed to her, too, but this is a weird situation.  After another 6 weeks he decided she wasn't long-term potential for him.

How many times do we date a few people at a time to get to know them, then choose one person exclusively for a while, only for it to fizzle out?  It happens every day.  Many times the chooser goes back to one of the people he/she was dating before.  It happens in the real world & it's no big deal.  We date, we try people out.  The difference with The Bachelor is that it was on TV.

Give Jason & Molly a break & wish them happiness.
