Beach Party Under The Big Top!

At 63, Jimmy Buffett proves that you're never too old to Rock-n-Roll, just like Paul McCartney, The Rolling Stones, The Eagles, etc., the list could go on and on.  With the announcement of Buffett's "Under the Big Top Tour 2010" coming to Verizon Wireless Amphitheater on Thursday, April 29, it started me thinking about his previous tours and I do believe that Jimmy Buffett is at the top of the list for the most innovative named tours. 

For instance, he's had his share of "food" related tour names: 

In 1978 it was all about the "Cheeseburger in Paradise Tour".  1979 saw another grill favorite: "A Hot Dog & A Road Map Tour".   It was back to the tropical feel in 1980 with the "Coconut Telegraph Tour" and 1985's "Last Mango in Paris".  Then there was one of my favorites, the 1994 "Fruitcakes Tour".  Of course who can forget 1996's "Banana Wind Tour" and the "general" "Feeding Frenzy Tour" from 1984.  Whewww!

Whether it's Volcano’s, Pirates, Cheap Vacations, Hot Water, Lizards, Rece$$ion, Carnivals, Beaches, Tiki's, Salty, Parties, Havana... "You Had To Be There."  (Yes, another tour name!)  His concerts are like a HUGE beach party, complete with giant beach balls, among other things.  So, calling all Parrotheads (and even wannabe Parrotheads) here’s your chance to experience Jimmy Buffett & The Coral Reefer Band on April 29 at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater.  Tickets go on sale Monday, Feb 22 at 10am.   Maybe I’ll see you “Under The Big Top”!
