The new movie “Alice In Wonderland” starring Johnny Depp will feature a 16 song soundtrack that includes music from All American Rejects, Avril Lavigne, Plain White T’s and more. Look for its release on March 2nd.
Tracks from the last ever Jimi Hendrix recording session will be released as an album called “Valleys of Neptune” on March 9th. Following the album’s release will be the “Experience Hendrix” tour which will take Jimi’s music on the road with a band that includes Joe Satriani, Aerosmith’s Brad Whitford and members of Los Lobos and Living Colour.

The Canadian Songwriter’s Hall of Fame has announced it will induct five classic songs from RUSH in 2010. The Toronto Star reports that the songs “Limelight”, “Closer To The Heart”, “The Spirit of Radio”, “Tom Sawyer” and “Subdivisions” will be so honored at the institution’s annual ceremony on March 28th. The band will not be able to be present at that time, but has asked fellow Ontario musician Jacob Moon to play those songs in their absence.
Tina Turner is thinking about doing another concert tour – the 70 year old legend hasn’t ruled anything out, obviously considering that her 2008 tour took in $47.7 million dollars!
VH1’s “Behind The Music” will be moving over to its sister network VH1 CLASSIC and as part of the move, the series will introduce eight new half-hour specials re-titled as “Behind The Music – Remastered”. Artists to be featured will include John Lennon, Genesis, Motley Crue, Def Leppard and Judas Priest. Even though all of the artists included in the new “Remastered” series have had their profiles done before via “BTM”, each new episode will pick up where the last one left off and include new footage. BEHIND THE MUSIC: REMASTERED will debut on VH1 Classic on February 6th.
