Maybe musicians should not write songs to cheer on their favorite sports teams! Prince released a song last week for his favorite football team, The Minnesota Vikings – it was not well received by the fans and it didn’t help, as the Vikings lost to New Orleans in the NFC Championship. See the video and view the lyrics HERE.
On the happier side of things, today is a big anniversary for “His Purple Badness” – it was thirty years ago today on January 26th, 1980, that America got its first look at Prince when performed on Dick Clark’s American Bandstand. The song he played was today’s archive song: “I Wanna Be Your Lover”. See a recording of that performance HERE. Keep watching after "I Wanna Be Your Lover" ends and see what a difficult time Dick had with the interview. The bonus is the band going into another song called "Why You Wanna Treat Me So Bad?"
