Cannabis Festival

Residents of the northern Colorado town of Nederland are considering a ballot initiative to legalize marijuana and create a Cannabis Festival.  Organizer Cynthia Davis says the proposed 2-day event would celebrate marijuana and provide education about its uses.  But Mayor Martin Cheshes says the city should be known for its beauty, not for drugs.  The board of trustees is scheduled to meet next week to hear input on the Cannabis Festival.  The initiative would appear on the April ballot. 

If you read my blog yesterday, you know that Colorado isn't the only state with weed legalization discussions.  In California, a state assembly committee approved a "pot for pleasure" bill on Tuesday.
