Happy New Year!  Here’s hoping that 2010 will be a prosperous New Year for all of us!  To make sure that happens, here’s the advice my Grandmother used to give us - we MUST eat black-eyed peas on New Year’s Day.

There’s just one problem…I don’t like black-eyed peas!  Couldn’t I substitute regular peas… butter beans…or snow peas?  Nope!  It absolutely has to be black-eyed peas.  This tradition has been around since the Civil War.   However, it’s now 2010, so I think I’m going to try a new idea.  How about listening to the music of the Black Eyed Peas instead of eating black-eyed peas?   Hmmm...do you think that will work?
