As we play tonight’s artist, they are cruising in the Caribbean as part of “Shiprocked 2009,” along with Queensryche, Ratt and Skid Row. It is an 80’s hair band lover’s dream vacation. Hopefully there are no Speedo wearing bandmembers hanging at the pool or in the buffet line (yikes!), although Sebastian Bach of Skid Row seems like the type to sport one.
In the early days of their career, this band toured with bands like Van Halen, Def Leppard and Poison giving them the label of a “Glam band”, which they hated. You never saw them with teased hair or make-up in leather pants, but rather T-Shirts and jeans. And their music is better described as “Bluesy Metal”. I saw them a few years ago at Pop’s and they sounded fantastic. Shiprocked is their final scheduled tour date for this year, but definitely try to catch them next time they are in town.
