If Rod Stewart isn't going to be a part of the festivities, then the other remaining members of Faces will go on without him.  However, if he does decide to join in, then that's okay too!  No matter what, though, the group has stated that they will be aiming for live dates starting early next year.  Again, we've heard it before, but maybe next year will be our (their) year!  Keep your fingers crossed.
