Smithereens guitarist and singer Pat DiNizio wrote this catchy pop song for the 1989 movie Say Anything, but DiNizio ultimately withheld the song from the project after he and the film's producer disagreed on making certain changes to the song.

Of course when we think of that movie, the scene that pops into most of our heads is with John Cusack’s character “Lloyd” holding up the boom box with Peter Gabriel’s “In Your Eyes” blasting.

The 20th anniversary of that movie was this month, and to promote the release of the movie on DVD, a bunch of Lloyd Dobler wannabes in trench coats carried boom boxes over their heads on the streets of NYC.
