I'm not saying that it's a totally bad idea, but the growing trend of the "re-release" is starting to confuse me. It isn't a new idea, however, in recent years (especially since the economy tanked) newer artists are re-releasing material from their most recent album in a repackaged state, sometimes just months later, with a few more songs and other goodies. I can understand why The Beatles did it, and other, older artists reaching out to a newer generation; I GET THAT. I don't understand why we need 12 remixes of an album that hasn't been out for a year. Some of my favorite modern bands are guilty of it, and today I've decided that I'm seeking something different from the artists I enjoy (Read: I just want more, great, original music from the bands I like). That's all.
