Got to give props this morning to a local kid who yesterday did something that has only been done once before in the long history of the NFL.
Jairus Byrd-as a quarterback-led Clayton Hi School to the 2004 Class 4 state football championship. He then went to the University of Oregon and switched to the cornerback position.
Yesterday-as a member of the Buffalo Bills-Byrd intercepted 2 passes making him only the second player ever to have 2 or more interceptions in 3 straight games. The only other guy to do this did it 49 years ago. So this is a pretty amazing feat.
Byrd actually has interceptions in 4 straight games. He has 7 total-and that leads the league.
Local kid makes good. Way to go Jairus Byrd.
