SCROLL DOWN for JAY's BIO -

I was born in St. Louis and grew up here, Minneapolis and San Jose, California...a multi-city childhood that prepared me well for the rock band-style, gypsy touring life that is a career in radio.

It's been a blast seeing America by working and living in all quadrants of the USA - I've been to 46 of our states and seen a lot of our amazing country, living and working in places like San Jose/San Francisco, Minneapolis, Seattle, Milwaukee, Norfolk/Virginia Beach, Springfield, IL, Dallas and Charleston, SC. I previously worked in St. Louis radio from 1995-97 when KSD was classic rock - (I think they play Polkas of the Antarctic now).

I came back to StL for good in 2006 to take care of family matters and have been with THE ARCH since June of 2007. It is the most perfect music station I have ever worked for, allowing me to indulge my rawk side as much as my love for pop music. It's my passion to bring all kinds of music to you and to dig around for the fun facts and stories behind the tunes and the people who make them.

I'm really lucky to be on TEAM ARCH, and I really appreciate that YOU listen. Thanks!

The nominees for the next round of inductions to The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame have been announced.  The names of these 12 artists have been sent to the 500 voting members of the Hall, and the the top five vote getters will be announced in January, and inducted into the RRHOF at the March 15th ceremony in New York.  Here are the semifinal 12 in no particular order - the envelope, please:

1.     ABBA

2.     Donna Summer

3.     Genesis

4.     Darlene Love

5.     Jimmy Cliff

6.     KISS

7.     Laura Nyro

8.     The Chantels

9.     The Hollies

10.  LL Cool J

11.  The Stooges

12.  Red Hot Chili Peppers

To celebrate this year’s 25th Annual ceremony, the RRHOF has released a major DVD collection through Time-Life.  It’s a nine-disc set that includes live performances and some of the great induction moments, along with never-before-seen rehearsal footage from acts like Aerosmith, U2, Metallica, Santana, Tom Petty, R.E.M., Eric Clapton and more!  The Hall is also hosting two concerts to celebrate the anniversary at Madison Square Garden on this Thursday and Friday October 29th & 30th.

Readers of Rolling Stone have their own ideas when it comes to who should be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.  The magazine recently conducted a poll to find out what readers favored, and their Top 12 results were….interesting:

1.     Weird Al Yankovic

2.     Rush

3.     The Moody Blues

4.     The Smiths

5.     Alice Cooper

6.     Television

7.     Beastie Boys

8.     Deep Purple

9.     Lou Reed

10.  Jethro Tull

11.  MC5

12.  New York Dolls

Justin Timberlake will reportedly be starring in a movie about Facebook!  VARIETY, one of the film industry’s most respected trade magazines says Timberlake will play Napster co-founder Sean Parker who later became Facebooks’ founding president.  Jesse Eisenberg (Adventureland, Zombieland) will play Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and Kevin Spacey is serving as one of the producers of the film.

2009 has been a fertile year for new “supergroups” to form.  First, there was Chickenfoot featuring Sammy Hagar on vocals, Joe Satriani on guitar, VH’s Michael Anthony on bass and drums from RHCP’s Chad Smith.  Their first album did very well, going gold and selling more than 500,000 copies.  Now comes word of Them Crooked Vultures which is a collaboration of Led Zeppelin’s John Paul Jones on bass, Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age on guitar and Foo Fighter Dave Grohl on drums.  Grohl put the trio together by inviting the other two (seperately) to dinner at L.A.’s “Medieval Times” restaurant, where they bonded.  And ate with their fingers.  And cheered for the jousting.

It’s not a done deal, but it looks like U2 will be one of the next superstar acts to have their own branded video game.  The band is in discussions with MTV Games and Electronic Arts about the possibility of creating a Rock Band: U2 game.

Genesis has kept itself busy while off the road preparing a couple of compilations.  One has been released already – September 14th was the release of “Genesis Live 1973-2007” (their first four live albums), and now November 24th is the next red letter date for Genesis fans.  That day, Genesis will introduce “The Movie Box” a DVD set with tons of live performances with Phil Collins as the frontman, including the 1982 concert film “Three Sides Live”, and 1984’s “Genesis Live: The Mama Tour”.  Even more enticing for Genesis fans is an updated version of VH1’s Behind The Music special and one disc devoted to then band’s “Live At Wembley’ performance stretching out over four nights in 1987.
