Hello Class I’m your substitute teacher in today for Miss Christy I’m Miss Julie! :)
Today's subject is one that some of you may remember…back in 1966 The Beatles were on their North American tour and where did they play August 21st, 1966?
St. Louis!
Yes they were at Busch Stadium.
It rained that night but John, Paul, George, and Ringo still managed to entertain the 23,000 fans who scored a ticket. One of those fans was Neal Doughty a man who would later go on to start a little group called “REO Speedwagon”…he later wrote he was “awestruck” at the concert.
Today's song was one they probably played at that concert because it was their newest single…it’s "Yellow Submarine"
To hear this song, listen TONIGHT @ 8PM, right here on 106.5 The Arch
P.S. A new version of "Yellow Submarine" could be in the making. "Variety" is reporting that director Robert Zemeckis has teamed up with Disney on a remake of The Beatles' 1968 animated film.
