In for Miss Christy, I’m Miss Julie.
Tonight’s School of Rock lesson involves Elvis Presley. The wild and crazy Elvis fans will always remember that Sunday was the anniversary of his death back in 1977, he died on August 16th. Today (August 18th) was the day he was buried. BUT if he were still here I’m sure he’d be happy to know that not 1 but 2 of his ex-band members are being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame this year.
Bill Black is best known as the bassist for Elvis & DJ Fontana is best known as the drummer for Elvis. Both of them are being inducted into the 2009 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year. Of course they’ve done many other things in their career besides work for the The King, check out their bios for more info. (the link to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame website is above)
But both of them played on tonight’s School of Rock Song…"Hound Dog"
