Kelly Clarkson has long been irritated about the media's fascination with her weight.  Sometimes it's up.  Sometimes it's down.  In the September issue of Self Magazine, she does an interview in which she talks about staying true to yourself.  In fact, the Editor-in-Chief of Self even says "SELF magazine inspires and informs our 6 million readers each month to reach their all around best.  Kelly Clarkson exudes confidence, and is a great role model for women of all sizes and stages of their life."

So then why did the magazine feel the need to AIRBRUSH Kelly's photo on the cover of the magazine in order to make her appear thinner than she really is!??!!

The Editor-in-Chief defends the airbrushing: "Yes. Of course we do retouching. Did we alter her appearance? Only to make her look her personal best."   So let me get this straight...the magazine doesn't think she looks her personal best??  How ironic her interview is about being "true to yourself", yet Self magazine thinks Kelly needs to be "airbrushed" to look good.  How true is that?

So does size really matter?  If she was at an unhealthy weight, I'd say - yes.  But she's not.  I think she looks healthy and it's nice to see a star whose bones aren't poking through their clothes!

All I have to say is that I won't be renewing my subscription to Self magazine.
