School of Rock is brought to you by Carol House because you like nice things!
Tonight’s subject is about finding your niche and being who you are…even if you are a bit weird!
You’ve got to follow your heart and do what makes you happy, case in point, Weird Al Yankovic.
He was raised in California by a dad that told him that the key to happiness was doing for a living whatever it is that makes you happy.
He was a smart kid, he began kindergarten a year early and skipped 2nd grade, his first accordion lesson was a day before his 7th birthday and you could say the rest was history after that.
He’s parodied more than 150 songs and has won 3 Grammy’s.
One of those songs that won him a Grammy…I thought to play it...well because I’m hungry…tonight's song was "Eat It" his version of Michael Jackson's "Beat It". Yankovic did have to ask permission from Michael Jackson before he parodied it and Michael said OK.
