There are lots of Minnesota baseball fans in town for this weekend’s series with the Twins. They’re a nice enough bunch, in fact they are famous for their hospitality which is known as “Minnesota Nice”. Now it’s our turn: Give a stranger a welcome, point them to one of the finer points of St. Louis, suggest a restaurant or offer them directions to an attraction they’d like to see. Last night at the game, I had several guys ask me how to get to Sauget. Ah, “late-night ballet” fans, I see…
I also noticed a lot of “Circle Me Bert” signs. These are signs held by Twins fans attempting to get the attention of TV commentator (and former Twins pitcher) Bert Blyleven. Bert gets to run the telestrator (or “circle machine” as he calls it) and it’s considered a high honor to be circled during the telecast in Minnesota.
Out-nice those Minnesotans! That way, they’ll be distracted as the Cardinals take their team apart on the field!
