Christina Aguilera making 3X other Voice judges
Apparently molding up-and-coming pop stars is a well-paid gig, especially if you’re Christina Aguilera. Sources tell “The Hollywood Reporter” that the pop star makes 225-thousand dollars per episode of NBC’s hit show “The Voice.” That’s reportedly more than fellow coaches Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton make combined. But executives say they’re willing to pay the price for talent that still has musical credibility and can perform on the show. Overall, the network’s head of alternative programming, Paul Telegdy, says they’re forking over about two-point-three million dollars for an hour’s worth of TV time.
Third Eye Blind under the Arch?
What? When? Exactly. The band was apparently swinging through STL after a tour stop in KY, and at the last minute decided to do an impromptu “guerilla style” acoustic show sitting on the ground under the Arch last night. The only people that knew about it were their Twitter followers. They saw the Tweet and showed up not knowing what to expect. A pleasant surprise for the Twitterers, the band was playing just a few feet away completely raw and unplugged. How cool!
HOW DO I LOOK? The new Christy
If you’re not familiar with “How Do I Look?” on Style Network, let me give you a brief outline. The show’s purpose is to bring out that sexy goddess that she once was. Some women get so caught up in taking care of the kids, the house, work, etc, that they forget to take care of themselves. They’re stuck in a “fashion ditch” and need guidance of Jeannie Mai, the host of How Do I Look? She’s a celebrity fashion stylist and has a knack, not only for transforming these women, but also teaching them how to bring their sexy back! When watching the show, we find out what the underlying reasons are for her fashion wreck. Something along the way made them feel as if they weren’t worth the effort or didn’t deserve to wear nice clothes or felt guilty for caring about themselves. After an intervention with friends and family they get the Hollywood treatment, new hair a new collection of designer clothes and a renewed confidence.
The transformations are phenominal! The most extreme fashion violaters appear Saturdays at 7pm and 10pm central on STYLE NETWORK! After my trip to Hollywood for my very own Jeannie Mai makeover, tell me, “How Do I Look?”
JOAN JETT -WHY SHE’S THE COOLEST ROCK CHICK
Rock icon Joan Jett recently turned down offers to perform on American Idol and Dancing With the Stars. The appearances would have undoubtedly been lucrative pay days, but when she was asked to speak to “at risk” teens at a Washington high school, it was obvious to her what was more important.
GAGA UPDATE
Are you intending on buying Lady Gaga’s new record “Born This Way?” It came out Monday to generally positive reviews. We’ve heard so much crescendo leading up to the release, I was afraid it would be all hype and no substance but it looks like some of the hype was warranted. If you still aren’t sure, tune into American Idol tonight, she’ll be performing.
HOW DO YOU LOOK?
I’m an anomoly when it comes to clothes shopping. I hate it. I’m not good at it at all! Shopping takes patience which is not one of my best qualities. You also need to know what looks good on you and what doesn’t, another problem for me. I end up getting boring clothes because I’m not sure which trends to follow or which styles are going to flatter my figure or what clothes will be age appropriate, yet reflect my personality. That’s my fashion hurdle and other women out there can surely relate in some way. Stuck in a fashion rut with no clue how to get out of it, and lacking the confidence to try.
For some women, their fashion ignorance has gotten them to the point of no return without the intervention of professionals. We’re talking EXTREME fashion hurdles. An 80′s rocker with leather pants, studded belt, black raccoon eyeliner. No, it’s not a dude in a band, it’s a woman with children! Her family and friends finally said, “NO MORE” and turned her into the How Do I Look? crew to get help convincing her she needed a change. She’s just one of the fashion nightmares you’ll see this season on ‘How Do I Look?’ on Style Network.
You may not be an extreme fashion victim, but How Do I Look? on Style Network is the answer to your fashion hurdles. Celebrity stylist and host Jeannie Mai can help you realize that you’re worth the effort and deserve to feel confident in your appearance everyday.
Watch How Do I Look? Saturday nights on Style Network at 7pm and 10pm. I can honestly say, it’s funny, enlightening, shocking and motivating! You will be hooked!

LA WANTS THE RAMS BACK
A group in LA is trying to get an NFL team back in their city, and the Rams are on their short list. Coincidently, the man in charge of the effort is a St. Louis native! No love for your home town Tim Leiweke? Some have the opinion that it is never going to happen, but this guy is willing the sweeten the deal any way he can. The center of the debate is the Edward Jones Dome, one of the worst NFL facilities in the league.
Read more about the potentially frightening situation for loyal St. Louis Rams fans here.
The Cicada invasion brings another invasion….
Yes, the cicada invasion is loud and very annoying, but dangerous? One of the side effects I didn’t realize was what the cicadas attract. Skakes. Copperheads to be exact. They love to eat cicadas and will go wherever they are plentiful, like your yard. Copperheads are poisonous but not life threatening to adults or large animals, they are however a danger to smaller pets and children that may have an allergic reaction.
Missouri Department of Conservation says Copperheads like to hang out around wood and rock piles, unmowed lawns, flower beds, shrubs and usually take cover from the heat in spots like that. They seem to be most active around dusk, the same time the kids and the pets are outside.
Keep an eye on the little ones, four legged and two legged. If you do spot a Copperhead, leave it alone, it is illegal to kill them.
U2 – TAX EVADERS???
Bono and U2 have a global fan base, but they’ve also attracted critics on their home turf over money matters. Ireland’s “Independent” reports that a tax protest group called “Art Uncut” plans to go after U2 later this month when the band performs at Glastonbury Festival in the UK. So, what’s the beef? Protesters say the Irish band has engaged in “tax avoidance” by setting up some of its business interests in The Netherlands. Art Uncut claims its protest will demonstrate the impact of U2′s “tax avoidance” on the Emerald Isle’s schools and hospitals.
The band’s manager Paul McGuinness is responding the criticism. McGuinness calls U2 a “global business.” He also points out that the rockers pay different types of taxes around the world.
SEVERELY ABUSED DOG RESCUED IN SAUGET IL
Over the holiday weekend, Sauget, IL Police were alerted to a dog in severe neglect. His owner says she lost her job and couldn’t take care of it. So instead of surrendering the dog to the Humane Society or one of umpteen rescue groups like most intelligent, compassionate people would do, she decided to let it suffer horribly.
Thankfully, Aaron has been taken into loving hands by Hope Rescues. Unfortunately, he is in really bad shape. Not only was he severely malnourished, he has heartworms and a severe case of a skin disease called mange. His conditions are treatable, but he has a long road to recovery and it’s going to be expensive.
My Beagle, Sophia was emaciated and near death when I found her 7 years ago. One vet didn’t think she would make it, but I know dogs are more resilient than most believe and I never gave up on her. We can’t give up on Aaron either. I am personally begging you to visit hoperescues.com . Scroll down to read Aaron’s story and to donate whatever you can to help him survive this inexcusable abuse.

Wildlife Baby Shower tomorrow!
I love animals! Doesn’t matter what it is, opossums, raccoons, goats, pigs and yes of course dogs and cats. And baby animals? OMG, it wrecks me. Just the other day, I rescued a baby bird and took it to the Wild Bird Rehab in Overland. I’ve rescued countless animals; ducks, birds, opossums, snakes, bunnies, turtles-you name it. If it’s in danger or abandoned or injured I’ll do whatever I can to save it.
This Saturday, Wildlife Rescue Center will be hosting a wildlife “Baby Shower” for all of the new critter babies they have gotten this Spring. The event starts at 10am until 3pm and will be a day of fun for anyone who loves wildlife. Learn more about it here.
Thank God for places like Wildlife Rescue Center in Ballwin, MO. It’s a place where animal crusaders like myself can take these critters to be nursed to health and released back into the wild.

Pictures from my How Do I Look? experience, courtesy of Style Network
Last weekend I had the phenominal privelige of flying out to LA courtesy of The Style Network for my very own How Do I Look? makeover experience. I’m typically a simple girl when it comes to fashion, mainly because I’m afraid of dressing far younger than my age should allow. How Do I Look? is the show for you if you feel the same way! If you just don’t know what direction to take your look, or you just need some encouragement to take that risk, Jeannie Mai will inspire you to find the look that will make you feel great every time you walk out the door. When you ask someone, “How Do I Look?”, you’ll finally get the compliments you’ve been hoping for.
In these pictures, you’ll see the other DJ’s that took part in the transformation weekend. You maight also see a few familiar faces! A few suprise sightings of Sinbad and Rick Springfield in the Hollywood hotel we were staying at!
My mom was there for the reveal along with Jeannie Mai, who were both shocked at the before and after.
The most amazing transformations happen on Saturdays and 7 and 10pm central on Style Network. See the woman with the leather pants in the picture on the How Do I Look? stage? You won’t believe the change. Your jaw will drop.

The “How Do I Look?” experience.
Style Network’s How Do I Look?, is a makeover show about women who have very disorted views of what looks good and what DOES NOT. Most of us have a style that is acceptable to our friends and family, but there are a few exceptions. If you’re already a fan of the show, you’re aware of the drastic transformations that take place. For instance, a woman in her early 30′s that actually hunts for old, ugly prom dresses….and wears them….EVERYDAY. She might even add an extra tutu or some combat boots to complete her “look.” Or the “hoochie mama,” that really is a mama, wearing clothes 5 sized too small, while her extra “assets” spill over the top. Thankfully, these women have people in their life willing to intervene in their fashion nightmare, and How Do I Look? facilitates the dramatic shift from hideous to haute couture.
How Do I Look? graciously flew me and 5 other DJ’s from Baltimore, Philly, Boston, Chicago, and D.C. to Los Angeles over the weekend for our very own fashion lesson. Thankfully none of us showed up in tutu’s and combat boots! We also had the privelage of sitting in on a taping of one of the dramatic reveals, and let me tell you, they had to convince me it was the same woman.
Even if you’re not a fashion nightmare, the show will inspire you to be more daring and willing to take a fashion risk for the better. The show doesn’t just put a woman in a pretty dress and change her hairstyle, but changes her from the inside out. How Do I Look? may not change you overnight, but after watching the show more and more, you’ll undoubtedly become more consious of the fact that how you feel on the inside is directly related to how you present yourself everyday.
Watch How Do I Look? Saturdays at 7 and 10pm central time.

The #1 KILLER
If you had to guess what the leading cause of death among women and men was, what would your answer be? Cancer? Think again. Actually, Heart Disease is the No. 1 killer and Stroke is the No. 3 killer of all Americans – both women and men.
Heart disease is something all of us need to educate ourselves with. Statistically speaking, only 1% of us have a healthy heart profile. We don’t exercise enough or eat a proper diet and many ignore the warning signs that lead to lethal heart attacks and strokes.
On Saturday May 14th, join me, Christy, and more of the Arch staff at Busch Stadium for the Start! Heart Walk hosted by the American Heart Association. You can register at 1065thearch.com and help us reach our fundraising goal of $25,000 to assist in raising awareness. Your efforts will even get you qualified to win a night out to see U2 at Busch Stadium this summer!

Post tornado: Count your blessings and take better care of yourself and others.
We all feel lucky to be alive, and most of us feel lucky enough to have weathered the storm with our homes intact. It’s amazing no one was seriously injured or killed. Imagine the outcome had the tornado struck while you were sleeping? Feel even more fortunate now?
Today is the day to start taking better care of yourself and encourage your friends and family to do the same. Heart Disease is the No. 1 killer and Stroke is the No. 3 killer of all Americans – both women and men. And a vast percentage of those affected have a common link, obesity. Obesity has become one of the most expensive health care problems in America, surpassing smoking. Nearly 67 percent of Americans are overweight or obese and at risk for heart complications and stroke from a sedentary life.
Join 106.5 The Arch at Busch Stadium Saturday, May 14th for the American Heart Association’s Start! Heart Walk! Get a team together or join me with the Arch team. We’ll walk for the future health of ourselves and for those already affected. Learn how to qualify to win a night out to see U2 coming in July!

1000 YARDS AWAY…
I live in Ferguson, one on the areas hardest hit by Friday’s tornados. As of today, the count was 404 homes in Ferguson alone, that were damaged or destroyed. I drove the path of the tornado last night along Chambers Rd and Elizabeth. Very heartbreaking. Gorgeous turn of the century homes that have withstood over 100 years of dangerous weather were torn apart. In seconds.
I’m still in shock, because I was only 1000 yards away from the tornado’s course. I googled my address today to calculate exactly how close I was. 1000 yards. Since it happened I’ve been shaking my head in amazement and gratitude that me, my animals and my house were all spared.
Below is video a resident shot.
