The seed for Christy’s 13 year radio career started at Ritenour High School in North County, one of few high schools in the country with an operational radio station. It was there that she first got the radio bug taking a Mass Communication class her senior year. After graduating in 1993, she attended Lindenwood University with a dance scholarship majoring in Mass Communication and later attended Broadcast Center in St. Louis.
After an internship at 105.7 The Point, she began working on air at a station in Southern Illinois in 2001. She then had double duty in Champaign, Illinois working on air at a hard rock station and classic rock station. Most of her career however, has been here in her hometown of St. Louis at 104.1 The Mall, RED @ 104.1, followed by 4 years at 105.7 The Point. Christy joined the Arch in 2009 as the weeknight On Air Personality. In May of 2011, Christy was promoted to mid-days 10am-3pm, where she continues to intrigue listeners with little known artist facts and informative updates, maintaining spectacular ratings.
A gardener since the age of 10, a homeowner since the age of 23, and a massive dog lover with a sassy disposition – a rock chick that doesn’t want to grow up! She prides herself on being a crusader for animals and has worked with and volunteered for animal rescue groups Paws For Consideration and Puppy Mill Rescue. She eagerly supports organizations promoting adoption and fighting animal abuse, on and off the air. Christy has also been involved with other area groups such as American Heart Association and CHAMPS, emceeing local events. She lives in Fenton with her pets and spends most of her time working in the yard or improving her house.
