106.5 The Arch is proud to support Strike Down Heroin 2014 – Bowling Event coming June 21st from 7-9pm at a bowling center near you!
The Strike Down Heroin bowling event is held to raise awareness and funds to fight the St. Louis area heroin epidemic. The event is hosted by the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse – St. Louis Area and supports NCADA’s Not Even Once heroin awareness campaign.
In the last two years, Strike Down Heroin has brought together friends and families from all over to help raise awareness about the St. Louis opiate and heroin epidemic. Last year nearly 1,000 came out to bowling centers across metro St. Louis, and media support reached potentially hundreds of thousands more. As a result of the event, we saw a large bump in the number of inquiries regarding help – especially from young people and their families struggling with opiate and heroin addiction. Friends and family members of those we’ve lost, and those struggling with recovery, came forward and joined this year’s committee. It’s been a wonderful, healing group of friends and parents who lost their loved ones and are transforming that pain into actions that help others.
