Christy’s Pet Project

Christy’s Pet Project” is a weekly sponsored feature at noon each Friday during my show.  It will feature a “Star Pet” from one of many St. Louis area rescue groups, giving them a better chance at placing pets in forever homes.  Not only do I want to find homes for all pets, I want to encourage every pet owner to spay and neuter and join the fight in unnecessary breeding and unintended litters.  I’ve fostered and rescued several animals myself and have personally experienced the struggle for exposure and funding for small rescues.  The goal:  Forever homes for every pet!

This week’s featured pet for adoption:

Are you a Blues fan? Then how can you say no to Panger?

PangerPanger and Steener (big Blues fans) came from a high-kill animal control gassing facility, Panger was tagged for rescue first and his transport person was on their way with him and received a text saying how lonely Steener looked and was crying out after his “cell mate” buddy was taken away.  We instantly knew we had to save him too, so we rescued both boys and they have been in a happy foster home for a month.  These two are now in separable (you’ll see what we mean) and as best friends, they would love to find the same forever home.  A dog that has a companion canine buddy is much happier and able to run and play, keeping them fit and healthy.

Did you know black dogs are the hardest to get adopted?  This week we introduce Panger, and energetic boy rescued from a high-kill animal control gassing facility the day he was to be euthanized due to overcrowding. He is a black lab mix that is approximately 30-35lbs and is 1-1.5yrs old, its likely he will get a bit larger and end up around 50 lbs.. He is a very sweet boy that is very active and loves to play! He needs an active family that will exercise him regularly.  Panger’s adoption fee is $225. This includes all vaccinations, neuter, microchip, heartworm test, dewormer and maintaining heartworm/flea preventative while in our care.  Next week, meet the sweet and adorable Steener!

How can you not absolutely adore these kittens?!?!?
