Electra is a 6 year old, spectacularly beautiful black German Shepherd Dog and is currently is foster care with St. Louis Senior Dog Project. She weighs about 75lbs. She is perfectly housebroken and is easy to walk on a leash. Electra is so obedient and well trained, it’s a mystery why anyone would abandon her. So well trained in fact, we wonder if she was at one time a service dog or therapy companion! Her temperament is one of such calm she may actually put you at ease and help you de-stress at the end of a busy workday. She loves people, but many other dogs seem make her nervous and probably best as an only dog. However, it is possible she may find a friend in another dog with the same calm, laid back personality. St. Louis Senior Dog Project rescued her from death row at Jefferson County Animal Control where she’d been brought in as a stray. Electra is extremely toy oriented – she LOVES chasing balls – and would be good with a search and rescue type of organization or job. She loves to live up to that working reputation that German Shepherds are known for and could be easily trained for assistance. Electra needs a second chance, and St. Louis Senior Dog Project is looking for the forever home that deserves this extraordinary dog.
Although she was microchipped, her former owner could not be located. Electra comes microchipped, spayed, and UTD on her shots. Her adoption fee is $225.
