Researchers have found that repetitive dance music can make us train better than more “relaxing” songs. Scientists suggest there may be something in the style of music that influences us and causes us to take longer strides. They say that a more “activating” style of song, such as techno or pop, can increase our levels of effort by up to ten percent. In contrast, genres like reggae and jazz resulted in smaller strides and shorter distances.
