‘Rick on Whatever’-Tuesday 12/18/12

Few artists had a bigger year in 2012 than American Idol winner Phillip Phillips.  He released his debut album last month and is now ending the year enjoying the success of his single ‘Home.’  This week-’Home’ will make him the first Idol winner ever to have a number one single hit the top of the Adult Pop Songs chart-according to Billboard.

After Paul McCartney hooked up witht the surviving members of Nivana to perform at the Hurricane Sandy benefit concert-the rumors started of a reunion of the pioneering grunge group. But don’t get your hopes up. Dave Grohl is saying that such reports are ‘nonsense’.

Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta’s clip for ‘I Think You Might Like It’ has been named the number 1 new Christmas video of 2012 on both YouTube and VEVO.  It was written specifically for John and Olivia as a sequel to their ‘Grease’ hit ‘You’re the One That I Want.’ It’s the first musical offering from the pair in 30 years.

Former Rolling Stones guitarist Mick Taylor is predicting that the band will play more shows in the near future.  He says he has an intuitive feeling about it and that there’s no reason why the Stones shouldn’t play more shows if they want to.  Taylor adds that he’s 150% on board for future dates–if there are any.

McDonald’s open on Christmas Day ? Looks like it might happen this year for the first time ever. Mickey D’s got a new CEO and he is encouraging franchisees to do it.

I’m Rick on Whatever–and The Whatever Word of the Day is–NONSENSE.
