Tomorrow nite-the traditional Guns and Hoses event at Scottrade–the 26th straight year for the fundraiser for Backstoppers. Its fun for everybody-cops and firefighters-both male and female-battling in the ring for a great cause.
Oh and don’t forget another St Louis Thanksgiving tradition-the annual holiday parade. Its downtown Saturday-the 28th year for it. Starts at 8:45am-dozens of floats and balloons and bands–and this year-good weather.
One Direction is getting Barbara Walters’ seal of approval. The British boy band is among Walters’ “10 Most Fascinating People of 2012.” Other fascinating people chosen by Walters to be a part of this year’s special include-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton-’50 Shades of Grey’ author E.L. James-New Jersey Governor Chris Christie-and ‘Family Guy’ creator Seth MacFarlane. The 90-minute special will air on December 12th on ABC.
The jet-lagged guests on board Rihanna’s 777 tour plane are getting cranky. The plane-filled with 150 music journalists and other members of the singer’s crew and entourage-was en route from Berlin to London Sunday night when chaos reportedly broke out. The press was getting “restless” after waiting hours and hours for Rihanna to make an appearance and answer their questions. The incident came shortly after Rihanna was booed at her concert in Berlin that night. Audience members reportedly became disgruntled after waiting for hours before the singer finally arrived to the stage at 11:30 p.m.
Phillip Phillips is hoping his first album puts him on the path to stardom like some of his fellow ‘American Idol’ winners. Phillips dropped his debut album ‘The World From the Side of the Moon’ on Monday. He has reason to be hopeful thanks to the success of his single ‘Home’. Phillips says he only had about three weeks to record and that he wrote all but two of the songs on it.
The Backstreet Boys have an update on their upcoming album. The group says the album is more than halfway done. They have been busy recording in London with the producer behind hits like Train’s ‘Hey Soul Sister’ and Jason Mraz’s ‘I’m Yours’ and are now back in L.A. The group has yet to reveal a name or release date for the upcoming album.
Longtime iTunes holdouts AC/DC are finally joining the digital age. The veteran Australian rockers have released their entire back catalog on the digital music service. The rollout began Monday morning and includes all of the band’s studio albums-live albums-soundtracks-and box sets. Kid Rock also recently joined the iTunes family.
