North Face has once again won a round in court against locally based South Butt. The David versus Goliath saga began when Jimmy Winkleman started the South Butt label in 07 when he was a 17-year-old Chaminade student. An agreement last year ended use of that logo. Winkleman recently attempted to trademark a new Butt Face logo. A judge yesterday again said-cease and desist.
Debate number 2 tonite-Obama and Romney in what will be a Town Hall format. Wehrenberg Theatres says they will host free viewing parties at several of their locations. More info on that at www.wehrenberg.com. Debate begins at 8.
Journey guitarist Neal Schon is taking his scandal-filled love affair with alleged White House party crasher Michaele Salahi to the next level. While appearing at a benefit concert in Baltimore Sunday Schon got down on one knee onstage and proposed. The couple cried and kissed when Michaele said yes. Salahi says her relationship with Schon “is like a lifetime dream.”
Prince is reportedly contributing to the soundtrack of the upcoming film The Great Gatsby. Reports say Prince and Lady Gaga will write original songs for the film-tho not necessarily together. The Great Gatsby was scheduled to be in theaters for the holiday season but the release has been bumped into next year.
Bruno Mars is going retro for his video for “Locked Out of Heaven.” Its filled with grainy and fuzzy visuals of a sweaty Mars dancing in a dark club and looks like it came straight out of an old fashioned VHS player. Mars’ upcoming album “Unorthodox Jukebox” is set to drop on December 11th and he will be doing double-duty as host and musical guest on Saturday Night Live this Saturday.
The Rolling Stones are finally confirming their upcoming shows. The Stones will perform at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey on December 13th and 15th with tickets going on sale on October 26th. The group will play in London at the O2 Arena on November 25th and 29th. The group-under the name the Rollin’ Stones-played their first official gig in London on July 12th, 1962.
