The host for the Academy Awards show next February has been announced. Seth MacFarlane-the creator of Family Guy-will make his 1st appearance.
Axl Rose is set to make a rare TV appearance on ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live” October 24th. It will mark Axl’s first live TV broadcast interview in more than 20 years. Rose and the current incarnation of Guns N’ Roses will begin a residency at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, beginning October 31st and running through November 24th.
Simon Cowell is on the receiving end of rejection for once. His new project, which was supposed to be a search for the world’s greatest DJs, is no longer going forward. Cowell was working on the show with Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith’s Overbrook production company. One source says production on the show had been stalled because of disagreements over production credits between Cowell and the Smiths.
A new biography called “New Kids On The Block: Five Brothers and a Million Sisters,” is now out. It chronicles their rise to fame in the late 80s, their breakup in the 90s and their successful reunion in 2008. It also debunks some misconceptions. For example, in 1994, most people thought Jonathan Knight had left the group because of panic attacks and anxiety issues. In reality, the book says he was struggling with not knowing how to come out as gay and felt he could not confide in his anyone.
Paris Hilton’s boyfriend has been accused of misdemeanor battery on the Vegas Strip. TMZ.com says a guest at the Encore hotel’s XS nightclub claimed 21-year-old River Viiperi “punched him in the face” early yesterday morning, requiring medical attention. He said Viiperi became upset after his girlfriend began “making out” with Hilton. Viiperi, a male model, was arrested and later released.
