Now that Katy Perry is officially single again, reports are running rampant about her alleged romantic rendezvous. One name seems to keep cropping up in the reported Perry pairings — John Mayer. The UK website femalefirst.com quotes a source who says she has had a crush on Mayer since 2009. Perry and Mayer have reportedly been spotted on several dates in and around Los Angeles, including, what one source describes as a “cozy pizza party” at Katy’s house. The source also adds, “Katy seems to forget about John’s womanizing rep and the fact that he disastrously dated her pal, Taylor Swift.”
| Lady Gaga will make her acting debut in Robert Rodriguez‘s Machete Lives, the sequel to his cult favorite Machete. Gaga will play a character named “La Chameleon.” In addition to Danny Trejo reprising the role of Machete himself, Machete Lives‘ cast includes Mel Gibson, Charlie Sheen, Jessica Alba, Sofia Vergara and Zoe Saldana. It is expected out next year.
Mariah Carey will return to the silver screen acting in the upcoming film The Butler, directed by Lee Daniels, who also directed Carey in Precious. Carey will appear in the movie, which is described as “a decades-spanning White House tale” and also co-stars Forest Whitaker and Oprah Winfrey. A number of high-profile actors play the American Presidents over the years, including Robin Williams as Dwight D. Eisenhower, John Cusack as Richard Nixon and Alan Rickman as Ronald Reagan.

Rob Thomas is joining The Voice as a mentor. The Matchbox 20 frontman will assist Cee Lo Green’s team when the show returns for its third season on September 10. “I’m really excited to work with Cee Lo and love the idea that I may be in the room with a future superstar that the world has yet to discover”. Mary J. Blige and Michael Buble have already been announced as mentors for Adam Levine and Blake Shelton‘s teams, respectively. Green Day‘s Billie Joe Armstrong has also joined as a mentor for Christina Aguilera‘s team. Armstrong said in a statement that the hit NBC show is “not molding artists, it’s just giving them a little bit of guidance and direction without giving them a complete makeover.” |
