Hey Lucy!—Happy Birthday!
There will only ever be one Lucille Ball, but this weekend Lucy lookalikes will gather in the late comedienne’s hometown to try to set a world record. They’re gathering in Jamestown, New York – the city that was the birthplace of the redheaded, red-lipstick-wearing TV legend 100 years ago this Saturday. The hope is to surpass the world record for the most Lucy lookalikes in one setting. The gathering will fall in the midst of a five-day comedy festival named for Ball. Organized by Jamestown’s non-profit Lucille Ball/Desi Arnaz Center, the event will also feature performances by comedienne Paula Poundstone as well as impersonators of the characters from Ball’s 1950s sitcom “I Love Lucy.”
